Forum TOS

What exactly is ownership for a username. There is a scandal going on in the Philippines regarding forum posters. Some of them have been banned in this Forum for using one IP address. But it seems to me that is a good idea. The owners of the company they work for has the rights to their usernames in forums. This happened as one of its employees quit the job and have been told to surrender the password and username. For these reasons alone they are using duplicate accounts here. That SEO company in the Philippines is manipulating the TOS totally. They are not even allowed to put other sig in their links only the company's clients.

Meaning when they sign up for an account in this forum or elsewhere the username can be viewed as the companies own and will be asked to surrender their passwords and never to use that account. Most of the forum users have very rarely posted anymore or if not abandoned their former usernames because of the sig links are owned by the company.

That is a Bunch of BULL CRAP I have ever heard.

Sounds like maybe this forum isn't the best place to spam signature links.

You mean a company is holding the accounts of some DP members and they take advantage of things like signature links? I don't think that's fair at all... :( And why would a company hire someone to be a DP member or a member of any other communities anyway?

At the moment while they are employed they can use it but the moment they resign in the company they are asked to surrender the usernames and password of that account. I found this out because I was trying to buy a sig link and they said they cannot do so because the account belongs to the company. Anyway they are not posting anymore using those accounts because of this reason and they said they have secured another account. So question is right now if they employ 50 people and all those have resigned and quit their jobs they can continue posting to those accounts while the new recruited employees will be asked to secure another account and have those sig links and on and on and on.

    That is absolutely Spamming.

I have a feeling that there's more to the story. I'm sure they weren't the most useful members...
