vBulletin is awesome, but SimpleMachines is almost as good - and a lot cheaper.

I hate forum software, mainly because they are attacked constantly. Just keep that in mind when setting yours up, unless you plan on keeping it constantly updated and addons supported, don't bother.

Ugh, well, I really need some kind of forum, but I guess it needs to be seperate from the main site. I dont want to keep having to deal with alot of issues. But I think the forum is going to be key.

I wonder how u have missed IPB - invisionpowerboard
IPB has recently been having a big boost in sales, bcoz of the new licensing policies of vB.

I would recommend vB over IPB for security and excellent support
IPB over vB for a stable price - u don't need to pay big bucks once u have complete license, vB needs fresh license payment on every new gold version release

if u r going for free software,
IPB offers some free licenses, hard to grab but u can try it
there is phpbb - has large support but very vulnerable to exploits unless u r a good with servers and settings u could be hacked any day
SMF - has both free and paid,

    btw! DP uses vBulletin
