Forum Signatures- What's the best approach

Hi, can anyone share some tips/advice about forum signatures and directing traffic to a website. Are they best toned down or should they just sing out. An example, I have a Clickbank product that provides a beginners piano tutorial. There is a piano forum that I post on which does bring in some traffic but I'd like to experiment and try to increase it. My current signature is this:
Are You Struggling To Make Any Real Progress With Your Piano Playing? Then Try a Free Video Tutorial Designed For Beginners And Take The 'Pain' Out Of Learning Piano!
    A.S.A.Piano!>>

    Does it sound horrible?

Well, it sounds like an ad. However, the fact that you offer something free is appealing. I don't see anything inherently 'wrong' with it. You may just not get the kind of traffic that you're looking for from that particular form. I don't know much about the piano, but many people may want more of a 'hands on' experience, rather than watching a video about it online.

    Hope that helps,

    Mike

Experiment, each forum will probably react differently.

I think it's better to be short and to the point. If people can't read it in one glance they are going to ignore it.

Or.. put the most important part first and do the explanation after.

ex. Free video tutorial - put explanation here

It is a backlink - even if a low quality one - put a longtail keyword as anchor text.

I would try a more compelling headline like: How a 9-year old learned to play piano within a few days with these video tutorials! As learn how you can too!

It sounds stupid sometimes but these lines get a lot of traffic believe me ;)

Hey, I'm really glad I asked this question. Some very interesting ideas for me to try out. I like this too and again a little different. It's true, you have spelled 'guarantee' wrong though :)

use piano learning/piano playing or another related keywords as anchor text and link to the page you are promoting.
