hi, just want to know, will the forum signatures help my SERP / PR ? (forum signature like DP) i know the answer will be mostly yes. but i don't see any of the URL to posts when i type : link:www.mysite.com in Google. Thank You Very Much.
I don't know whether it helps serps or PR, but these links are definitely 'seen' by Google. When I look at my sites in Google webmaster tools I see hundreds of links from forum sigs. Hey, a link is a link, and if you're posting anyway then you may as well use your sig.
This was discussed many times here. Use Search (advanced search), put desired word in, choose 'search titles only' and search. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/search.php?searchid=9232396
Signatures especially in this forum really helps.... Your site will be index quick and also signatures are considered as backlinks...
Sigs in forums can help a site to gain PR since they are considered as backlinks (though Google don't count them as backlinks when the forum has a rel=nofollow attribute)
Forum links are useful. You need to post in forums related to your niche. Also, check if the forum implements a no-follow on signatures or is private. Plus, forum signatures get you direct traffic.
Digital Point is indexed fairly quickly. I was doing a google search for something I was looking for and clicked on a DP link, and it happened to be one of my old posts. Can't get ranked? Then post about all relevant topics related to your site on DP. Leave a link to your site in your post, and in theory you more or less use DP's high rank to drive traffic to your site. Even though you may have the same content on your own website. Another thing to do is to find a list of forums that don't use the no follow option. Post on those sites. This will improve your ranking. Although the sites using no follow can still drive traffic to your site, you get better use out of your time by posting on the no follow sites.
I believe signature links are a great way to increase your number of back links, may not be as efficient as normal backlinks are, but they are viewable -- that's what matters. I believe lots of users buy signature links not for the amount of backlinks, but for the exposure of their own web sites, linking to a page on your signature spot may attract a user, especially if you've made a few quality posts and are a respected user at the specific forums. Regards, Meti
Forum signatures help SERP and as backlinks to your site. it is possible that URL to post has not been crawl by Google.
Forum links are great exposure for your site. Loads of people visit and use forums, and a lot of these will see your link. If it's interesting they will click it, if it looks spammy, they wont. You can also get PR from forums. I know mine has pages of PR up to 3. I've seen others with 5 or even more in some cases. The main reason is exposure though, don't get too tied up on PR. If it's in your niche, go for it!
When I searched for some keywords, I happened to see top results from the digital point forum. So I would say DP is really a good forum if Google is to be considered.
in DP i write around 1-4 posts a day and they bring ~5-10 people to my blog everyday, plus I get backlinks. Forum signatures are very good and steady way to increase traffic.
anchoring your keywords in your sig help your serp definitely sometimes gives you backlink, for me i got both. rankings ang BL.. try to be patient..
Here is a list I found on Wealthy Affiliate for Internet Marketing related forums. If you took the strategy of making 5 posts per forum per day, after one year you would have over 20,000 possible signature links to post advertisements/links to. This also means they won't go away, so you could really be getting a lot of traffic from your signature links every day. http://www.abestweb.com http://www.ewealth.com http://www.warriorforum.com/forum http://www.Affiliate-talk.com http://www.A4uforum.co.uk http://www.therichjerk.com/forum http://www.howtocorp.com/forum http://www.im4newbies.com/forum http://www.clickbanksuccessforum.com/forum http://forums.digitalpoint.com [This URL looks familiar...] http://forums.seroundtable.com http://forums.seochat.com http://www.webmaster-talk.com Also, I don't know if this is the case for all forum platforms... but I really like vBulletin forums, because I can change my signature link and it changes all my previous signatures as well. This is really, really nice. Who needs to buy ad space when you can just change your forum signature?
Regardless of whether they help for SEO, why not have the link there? I know myself I must have clicked at least 300 links from signatures since browsing. Traffic's traffic, it doesn't cost anything to have you link there, so why not! In regards to SEO, I know DP posts come up in the SERPS often, and looking at the source of the link, they aren't nofollowed so I'm sure it would have some weight for ranking your site. How much it helps? Well, we'll never know.
