Forum Signature Links... Does each one increase keyword link juice?

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by SupNY, Mar 26, 2011.

I was wondering each time you post a link on a forum having a keyword anchor link in your signature, will the link juice increase each time?

or does it not matter too much after the first initial time you post a link?

or will it be classed as spam as its all coming from the same IP address etc?

    Thanks

Forum sigs are for marketing, not SEO. Though, I am fairly certain the bulk of DP thinks they serve some sorta ranking purpose. They don't.

    hope that helps,

Please, only hacks think forum sigs are proper SEO. There are loads of posts about that around here about the matter. Find some threads from actual professionals to confirm this.

Riddle me this. What is relevant or merit based about links on random sites with a zillion outbound links?

Nothing what so ever. Forum sigs do absolutely nothing to increase the inherent relevancy of a site. If you want to rank well these days you have to make the site actually relevant.

Google counts a link from one domain only once . So having one link or thousand links is no good in terms of links juice you will still be credited with one link . Imagine having 1000 posts on a forum with PR 4 do you think you will get 1000 PR 4 links ? That will mean a site will become PR 10 in no time owing to these many high PR links . But forum signatures are helpful for referral traffic . IF you engage in forums with sensible suggestions ans helping out people then people will be more than happy to check out your site through your signature . Moreover that establishes you as an authority in your domain.....

Seems like a good answer mate, you have to participate in forums of topics that you are interested in as if not you can't add anything worthy to the discussions :)

backlink is still backlink. However, what you can see normally forum page (not home page) have PR0 which might not give much juice. It still helps on your SEO

Forum signature link is a good strategy for one-way link exchange process and is a source for you to generate backlinks for your site but is not a guarantee that it will increase the visitors traffic as well. This is still an SEO property, in fact, one of the simplest form. This is still a method in link building. This is still a method used for internet marketing campaigns.

This will not target in increasing keyword link juice.

PR transfered through an outbound link depends on the PR of the page, not the domain. When you get one link, that's not a PR4 link. It's likely on the very low end of zero.

Of course PR isn't everything, and more links is better than one, but the value tapers off the more there are. And they're not valuable to begin with. They can be really good for traffic though, and if your content is good traffic can mean natural links.

the forum sig with links is helpful for ranking, but the problem is it is hard to find the forums that allow sig link.

I think Forum links do nothing else advertisement of your website because if a forum has a PR6 then not your all posts will get PR6 backlink or a such kind of thing.
However, still these links are beneficial for you.

It's like any other backlink juice. 1000 links from a single website won't have 1000x effect. The law of diminishing returns applies. :)

But as put before, forum links ARE beneficial.

i started a website a few days ago, not much competition in the niche, but the backlinks provided by digitalpoint forums and another website via forum signature, i rose to rank 2 on the indexes for a keyword quickly. :\

Every little bit helps. Unless you have an in to get your link on the first page of NYT.com, you have to get whatever drops of link juice you can.

I don't really look at forum links as a way to create backlinks. (Though it does work.) Instead, I look at forums as a way to generate legitimate, targeted traffic to my niche sites. Registering @ niche related forums and becoming an actual member of the forum is one of the best ways to generate free traffic and even build a list.
