Just started a new forum after finding a killer domain name (I think) for a niche I'm very interested in. www.supplementchat.com I hope to profit from this site in more ways than one, my partner and I have a strong email list of users who would are interested in this area and I've got plans to boast a beginning referral/post/thread contest. Any feedback would be great.
WOW. this forums is very nice to eyes. If I were a lonely visitor just landed by accident on your forum I would spend sometime on it. Really nice layout. Am jelous of you
Ditto on the layout but there's no actual "supplement chat" forum for topics like this one: Parents Revolt Over Plans to Dose Kindercare Children With Vitamins which is highly relevant.
This has a great look, but I think you could describe the type of "supplement" your site is based on. Dietary is what you want to impress, but this word has different contexts. Supplement Noun: 1)Something added to complete a thing, make up for a deficiency, or extend or strengthen the whole. 2)A section added to a book or document to give further information or to correct errors. 3)A separate section devoted to a special subject inserted into a periodical, such as a newspaper. 4)Mathematics The angle or arc that when added to a given angle or arc makes 180° or a semicircle. Also called supplementary angle . Just a thought, a great subject. Good luck Peace, kid5150
Thanks for the comments on the template, just a free one I picked up off vB.org and I edited it a bit, added a hack and changed a few images I realize that it's a ready-made vB forum, but I think everything is open to critique. On par with your comment Sarah, I don't plan to add a forum for "supplement news", but I'll reword one of my forums to do that. "Hot Supplements" I'll change to "Hot Topics", and reword the description for: "Controversial topic? New product? Talk about it here!" That kindercare giving multi's to kids is definately a good read, thanks for the link. Thanks for the comment on the designation of the word "Supplement", that's something I hadn't even considered. As you noticed, I'm implying dietary/nutritonal supplements for the fitness industry. I'll rethink my stake on it and try to bring into the site more keywords and better choice of words to make sure I get my point across. Thanks everyone.
hey i like the skin. My fav color Blue.. It's looking great..i m planing to make a theme like that for my SMF forum currently i have green one. Everything is fine wid ur site but u need traffic. n members too all the best
Nice skin really nice skin .looking great but not much member in it you should marketing of your site lot......
I realize I don't have many members, but it's been open two days Thanks for comments on skin, just a freebie but it works
You got another member... I like the idea of a forum specialized for supps, possibly have the supps divided down even further such as recovery supps, proteins, creatine, etc making it easier for the user to research. For instance now I'm battling something I tore in my shoulder/chest for the past month or better. I am trying many things including Cissus RX, a 'injury recovery' or similiar subforum would have been great to look through instead of wading through one big 'supplement' category.
Well Grim, as things grow larger on SupplementChat my hope is for it to be a "hub" connecting consumers to represenatives in the industry. Example ... Optimum Nutrition buys a sponsor package for a forum, you want to know how their Melatonin forumula works and asks in their forum, where in turn a Rep from Optimum will answer all of your questions.
Great Site. Like the colors. I think the site is interesting and has great potential. I aggree with kid5150 I found the word supplement too general. Maybe you can give a clear description of what the forum is about using words such as vitamin supplements, fitness, health....also you could divide up the topics and discuss what vitamin supplements are good for such as (Pregnancy, Fitness, specific diseases, Stress, Depression, Allergies....)
