I would like to suggest a new forum(s) for social networks such as myspace and the like.

There are a lot of posts about them and they aren't going to go away anytime soon.

    :)

Yes, there are a lot of threads about them. What are they normally about? What are they discussing? How to use them as a marketing tool?

Knowing the contents of these threads will help us decide where the put such a sub forum if it will be added indeed.

I think a general social networking forum could be useful, covering both angles of how to promote them and how to use them to market other sites.

How to get rich quick spamming bulletins is one example of a topic. :D

How to get 100,000 friends to spam them and get rich quick is another topic. :D

General Marketing-sub might be the place to put it, since it's not an affiliate program but makes people money.

Finding all the threads would be the challenging part. They're all over the place!!

Lol @ Nintendo - yep, that does make up quite a proportion. :D

I'm not sure if a sub-forum of General Marketing would be enough. Social Networks are springing up all over the place ... myspace, piczo, orkut, technorati ... could all find a place for discussion if they were grouped under a social network category with sub-forums of their own.

Tops - Fryman has a thread on the go just now about myspace - that's actually one of the more informative ones

I'm not quite sure what category or what the finer points should be - I'll leave that to you guys ;) It just seems to me that with social networking sites powering 5% - 10% of Internet traffic these days, they may deserve a place of their own on DigitalPoint.
