The other day I attached a PHPBB forum to my blog. IT was a dreamhost 1 click install, so I figured I may as well try it out. I have a few links to it from my blog, but no one is looking at it..

So firstly, do I need a forum? I guess this is a strange thing to ask. I would like to create a music community around my site, and I think the forum is a good way to do this - what do you think?

If you think I should keep it, how should I get people in there? I'm considering paying people to register/post, but that would probably be pretty costly if I wanted to see any results, and probably wouldnt be a lasting solution?

My blog is in my sig, The forum link is in the link bar at the top.

    Thanks for looking!

Paying people to post is generally a good idea if you can afford it. No one wants to talk in a quiet forum.
I recently did just that, and have more then 100 registered users after less then a week (about 35 of them were paid posters). It's a good way to get the ball rolling, if you can drive traffic to the forum.
