forum promotion GUITARS

I want to build up my forum. Its a guitar forum. Anyone here doing the same thing?

i'd like to post regularly on your forum and in return you post on mine.

BUT you have to know what you are talking about.... I don't want the vague and often incorrect messages that you get from people who are posting because you are paying them to...

I'm only interested in creating quality posts. So many other guitar forums seem to be discussing their favourite cheese, or saddam hussein etc etc. I really don't want to waste time talking off-topic rubbish. I want to create something I am proud of MORE than I want to build traffic and make money. (I think this is the long-term way of making money anyway)

If you want to exchange posts about GUITARS and not cheese let me know!

    thanks!

Well, guitar players have to eat, right?

Think of it this way, you are creating a place where those of a like mind will meet for a common interest. However, you all have other aspects of your lives too. Those things will come up and be important because your membership feels they are amoung those of a like mind. Let them talk. It's traffic and content. It's growth.

Your job is to start threads everyday that get them taking about guitars. But don't stiffle any conversations not about guitars. It will be suicide!

Don't throw anyone out. Even if they cut the cheese.

This is a great idea. I'm in. Check your private messages.

I had a REALLY annoying person who sort of ruined a lot of threads. I considered ditching this person. It turned out that this person created a controversy that really united forum members. In other words, it was a good thing.

yeh, I hear what you're saying - the content I was referring too was actually on other forums - I was trying to avoid some of that!

The fact is, I was looking for forums to join myself, and all the off-topic posts in that forum made me not join. The forum was huge and probably made a fortune - but its just not for me......

anyway, i'm happy to work with people now or anytime - if you're reading this in the far future, send me a message, and perhaps we can help each other

Can I have the url of your forum so I can check it out before opting in? I run the site igdb.co.uk and although I used to have a forum, I took it down due to the high spam rate... I will consider putting it back up though if people are interested in joining the forum etc...
