    I am sure each of 5000 backlinks will add up PR, but as 99.9% of these pages will have 0.15 PR, together these 5000 backlinks will add really a small amount ... Better to get quality PR 4 or PR 5 backlink. This will overweight all 5000 ... and probably more ...

    I am a member on a forum where I had 10,000 posts on and a link to my Live Journal was in my sig. My livejournal was a PR4 compared to the average LJ PR 2 or 3.

    The site I had those 10K posts on got hacked and had my posts rolled back to 6k, and I've got a new page that I am now promoting. The PR on that LJ account is now a 3.

    I contribute that extra PR pip to those missing 4K posts ~ as there is nothing I can really see that would make it anything else.
