It does not count as much even with dofollow, but still is useful in several ways including traffic and selling a service. My backlinks on DP and been very valuable to me over the past couple of years.
Forum posting are helps to sharing the new information and clear the doubts, if those forums are dofollow then helps to PR juice.
I have been here for about 20 minutes and already can tell you are ignorant of SEO. Whether it is nofollow or not, it still matters. Forums like this, and warriorforum, main page PR counts and overflows on other pages. Link saturation comes into play and that is why people ignorantly think that it is useless. I have ranked a site, JUST from forum links. Had 4 forum accounts with 4000, 6000,1000, and 500 posts, adding a new link in the signature, you think that doesn't help? A simple profile link even helps. A successful SEO campaign contains links from ALL sources.
Nathan, I agree with you here, but sometimes all other sources are not needed.. Variety and Consistency is Key!
Yes, every post we do the signature included in it is counted as a backlinks making one increase the SERP Ranking of the keywords
I think its safe to say that forum posts are worthwhile. A link is a link! But dont expect to be able to retire on the back of it! ;-)
This is very helpful to increase the SERP by posting the thread with the signature.keep it up to get some quality backlinks.
I have done the same! People who're saying you can't make money off your sig link just don't have the right audience (you don't go to a Biker show to sell Barbie dolls, just because you can). We also did an experiment with a non saturated key word on a new website only posting on forums... it did help our SERP.
hey guys........i think you all should watch this site.very well designed and optimized........nice one worldbuyerseller.com
There are many parts to this agreement. It can affect SEO directly as well as indirectly. Firstly, sometimes the forum signatures to get indexed and sometimes they don't, by posting more you're only increasing this chance. Secondly - try to genuinely help out people and seek for topics that require your expertise. Don't just randomly spam links of your website for no reason. If you feel the page of your website can desperately help the person seeking assistance then fire the link away. That is one way. Secondly, your posts are viewed by many hundreds of people not just one. How many times have you googled a problem and found the solution to it on forum topic? The content in that topic has been indexed - so if you're link was in there so was it. Thirdly, there can be traffic generated indirectly. If this page is viewed by peeps from Google then some might check out your signature - I know this has nothing to do with SEO but what if one of those visitors posts your site on their blog? That will create a backlink for you. That can help with SEO - so indirectly we're all benefited. Hope some of this made sense.
As you have posted you link in this website. As it is other forums have strategy to make links to promote to your website.
yes, it can help you. However if you want the real thing then you should consider getting the backlinks from high PR authority websites or the EDU backlinks
Agreed upon. But You must realize that webmasters will remove your links, if you spam and you will end up on a zero. You can use forums in 2 ways. By Posting your links: In the relevant sections and in the relevant posts. By Profile Signatures:
