Is it a bad thing to put Anchor text in your Forum Sig for your url on pay to advertise forums?

ETC. I post on a lot of forums that want you to pay for banner advertising, on those forums I put my url in my sig link with anchor text.

I then continue to receive emails from the web masters complaining that I need to pay for advertising and they remove my sig link.

Do you think its a bad thing to put your url in sig links? or are they just oblivious to seo ?

Sorry if this was posted in the wrong forum.

Bah mate, I mean if the forums have rules against advertising in their sigs then respect those rules. If not, shoot away. All this we pay for advertising on our forums and you should too is utter BS and those admin are all stuck up greedy snobs.

Forums are for helping people around, if your link can do that then it should be fair game for you to be able to post it in your signature. Your not just posting in the forum, your helping the forum grow. It owes you, not the other way around.

    Cheers, ;)

Every forum has their rules. Placing signature is not evil. You just have to follow their rules. Most forums asked you to contribute before posting signatures.
