    Hi DP Family,

I am building a site on Wordpress that will have a main site and a forum together. When building the forum part, is it more stable to use an add-on domain such as forum.domainname.xxx or to use a link domain such as www.domainname.xxx/forum? Also, would it be better create a subdirectory or possible find a wordpress plugin(maybe?) with a forum page template. Please advise.

    Thanks in advance

Neither way of doing the domain name is more or less stable - stability has nothing to do with whether you use a subdomain (forum.domain.com) or not.

As far as the forum, that's your choice. If you like a plugin, use it. If you like Buddypress, use that. If you prefer a separate forum, you can find or write a plugin to make a single-login site - the user logs into either one and is also logged into the other one.
