First off im not really sure where to place this, so feel free to move if need be...Be easy on my though I recently started a forum 3-4months ago...Its a general automotive forum...As majority of you know im sure theres pretty much already multiple forums for anything you can think of...One night i was tryin to think of ways how i can gain members in a forum community that is loaded with forums of the same idea..After a few minutes i came up with the "members only" section...But i dumped that idea rather quick cause i know me personally, i wouldnt join a forum just to see a "regular" section with somewhat private messages....Im sure it would just be loaded with stupid crap anyway, off topic threads, pointless stuff...So i got to thinking again....Then i thought of it....Hotties.....Cars and Girls, great combo...So i started a section on my forum for "hotties" which is loaded with content of various car models and just random chicks...Clothed and not clothed...Figured that would draw some attention for the guys....Its worked somewhat....Ill post a link on the myspace page and mention that its for members only, so if you have yet to sign up blah blah blah blah....Usually when i do that ill get a good 5-6 new members...Not A LOT but still better then nothing for a small forum just starting...Granted these members may only visit a few times (or just that one time), or may only leech the hotties section but i figured traffic is traffic....I also have a mod set up where it will send out an email if a user hasnt logged in within 2months...So im hoping these people will join and if they dont come back theyll get that email sometime down the road and be like "ohh yea, forgot about them" and come back to view how we are growing.... Find a way to offer your members something they can benefit from, something they would enjoy and just offer it to the members...However, leave the section viewable so guests know its there but still cant view whats in the section, next to the section title add "Registered Users Only"... This may sound stupid to some of you but for me i found it to help here and there...Im new to all this shit so 3 new members can put a smile on my face lol...
indeed lol... be smart about it though...for example images posted in there (nude ones) arent copyrighted by some major company like Bang Bros or whatever....A lot of random chicks who take shots of themselves and stuff like that...Myspace hoes and all that good stuff lol...
This brings me onto my next point, dont smoke crack Cool idea but you could have made it easyer to read. Space it out abit and stuff
I don't think your idea can or may work on every forum... particularly the political ones. Thanks anyways.
