I am designing a website and I need a forum on it.

I can't seem to find any simple copy & paste forum widgets to put on my web

    thanks for any ideas.

Why not create a forum using a free service and put a borderless iframe on your page?

It is easy to merge a phpbb forum into a website page. :)

I agree, phpBB (free) as nice ways to implement itself onto a website.

IPB (Payed) has the best integration, but Vbulletin (Payed) has more features so.... ya....

What script are you using?? Is it a custom one?? Anyway Phpbb as mentionaed by getcash is easier to install and also available in fully modded version so you can install the full featured fill forum in a jiffy!

I agree, you can easily merge phpBB and Wordpress. phpBB has a mod to do it.

I don't know why other people like merging their web and forum. For me it's annoying because your forum has a very limited space

It can be useful for using the same membership system and registrations, and also keeping the theme the same as the website and keeping the navigation and so on if you are creating a custom theme for both the site and forums.

Also Vanilla Forums as well. They have a couple of bridge mods and the template system is easy to integrate. But PhpBB is a great suggestion!!

If your using wordpress bbpress is easy as anything however its very short on features.

I personally have used myBB which you can see it intergrated with my site www.footballunleashed.com i have also in the past done it with phpbb2 (You can see this on ukhardhouse.info - although this site is no longer mine so im not sure whether it has been changed or not).

Depending on your skill level it can all be done. Personally i think phpbb2 was the easiest but the code is sloppy, the features arnt as good and it uses far more bandwidth due to the sloppy coding.

I cant comment on any others except i would stay well away from smf, although its nice software its hard to get it to look like other sites. I also think your going around it the wrong way, rather than get the forums to display on your website, it would be better to get your forums to LOOK like your website by skinning it, which is what i did on both of the examples i gave.

Why not just use phpbb, with custom pages? Save using mods and make a more interactive website. Depends how advanced you are with design though as to how well you will do at this kind of thing I guess.
