Forum of a main website is being spammed will that effect the main website SEO. for example www.example.com is my main website and www.example.com/Forum is the forum. www.example.com/Forum on one of the forum its being spam, I mean I'm so of allowing that to be spam. www.example.com/Forum under general people can ad spam. I wanted to know will that effect www.example.com anyway in regards of SEO?
I would think your entire domain can get penalized for linking to bad websites regardless if it is from a subdirectory or main page. If using a subdirectory kept your main website safe, everybody would just be putting their links pages in subdirectories. Perhaps you should consider automatically adding nofollow attributes to any links posted in the forum. If your domain is trusted enough, such links probably wouldn't have any effect. If your website doesn't have many quality backlinks, I think such bad links may have a greater effect.
I'm not link to bad website. Let me example this again, my main website has a forum. And on that forum, under general people post ad and spam. can my main website be penilized?
I'm not saying that you yourself are linking to bad websites. I'm saying that when people spam urls the main thing you have to be concerned about is linking to spammy websites and bad neighborhoods. It's fine if those people are spamming links to quality websites, but it's a big problem if they are spamming shady website urls.
yes it will .. dont every allow spammer into the site they will split all over the place... so...just ban them
