Forum Marketing

When promoting Clickbank products in forums, is it better to direct link from signature or to send visitors to landing page?

My opinion is that, visitors are already targeted, so if you give them the right product, they will purchase it, even without reading a review or recommendation.... Don't you think so?

P.S. Of course, I am not talking about Internet marketing forums...

I think you search for review only when they heard about the product.
But, as you tell them about for first time and your experiment about it, they what you tell them is like review, just direct them to the sales page.

Good question. I have yet to do any real forum marketing. I am just trying to get my pages at the best possible conversion ratios before I really start promoting them hardcore.

To answer your question though, I don't think it matters where you put your link, or if you link directly or to your landing page. It just has to flow and what you say in your post, or sig should entice them to want to, or have to click on it to find something out.

I havn't really tried any forum marketing, but my guess is that some of the signiture clicks might come from threads you comment in that are not about the product, so a bit of pre sell could still help. Not really sure though.

Or you could make two accounts, ask a question with one account and then reply with the other.

Just wanted to make sure I understood the question. There are 4 ways you could do it.

    1. Link to YOUR recommendation/review page which links to the product site.

    2. Link to YOUR recommendation/review page which links directly to the Clickbank shopping cart for the product.

    3. Link to the product site with hoplink

    4. Link directly to the Clickbank shopping cart for the product

Of all of those I think #2 is best as it gives you more credibility as the seller and not as a pass through. This is especially true if you attempt to capture the email address visitor in some form or fashion.

    Good luck.

I will try linking straight to the publisher and see how it goes.

I feel the 2nd one should give better results. 1 because your giving your review about the product and 2 if the customer wants to make a purchase he goes directly to the shopping cart.

I think regardless of where you are doing the promotion, the thing you want to accomplish will determine how you link. You should probably want to use a landing page of your own if you want to gain a list from the exercise. Otherwise, direct linking to the offer's landing page will give the vendor more data for their list, but whether it converts or not, none for yours.

If you do that you don't have a chance to get their email.

Having people subscribe for your newsletter is way more rewarding then the few % better conversion rate you'll get if you'll link directly to the publishers page.

See, on the long run it's better to have a bit lower conversion rate but having a chance to build a list of faithful subscribers.

But I guess that it all boils down to your goals.

If I were you I'd get straight with what I want and then I'd test both options and see which one converts better for ME.

    Good luck

I am not trying to build a list on forums. If I would want to do that, then I would set-up a squeeze page with some offer there, and direct traffic from different sources.

However, now I am just trying to quickly convert forum readers into buyers.

I think direct linking is the best way to go. We'll see...

Since you want quick sales, then you either link to the vendor's sales page or you create your own sales page and link directly to the clickbank shopping cart from it. Review the vendor's sales page and if you like it (you would definitely purchase from it yourself) then do not bother creating your own page and link to the vendor's one.
