Every morning, I manually monitor my rankings to see where I am at in the major search engines. My allinanchor and allintext are still good, but I'm not ranking yet in Google. Today I was doing my routine checks and found that a dp post I published a few weeks ago was ranking in google for one of my main keywords (I had the keyword in the post). With that said, can forum links help you in the search engines? I mean many posts have very good content, and I'm sure that google sees dp as a trusted site. Please give me your input. Thanks!:)

I think that's one of the reasons why getting up to a level where you're able to post your signaure, including links to your sites, along with every forum post is so highly prized. Thus you end up with a lot of garbage posts all over the forum, which is why we have the ability to red flag a post.

    Apparently anyway...

Well, it will help you get indexed but forum sigs are not worth anything in terms of backlinks (i think) :) otherwised they would be spammed to death.

I gotta agree with that too.

Though there are other benifits from forum sigs such as finding link partners and direct traffic from the link in your sig which I think are quite important and it is handy we are aloud to use them as lots of forums dont allow such sigs anyways.

You have missed an option or two with your poll I use forum sigs but dont think they help, but there is no option for this the only options are I have tryed but it dont work, or I have not tryed but dont think it works.

Most forums are database driven. I'm thinking that if forums generated html pages for each post, the actual links in the thread would be valued more. My main site is database driven and html pages are generated on the fly each time you access them. I've never had problems ranking because of the fact.

    What?

Yeah of course they are links, I just dont think they hold any real value in that sence.

But as I say I use them for diffrent reasons anyways.

I believe they help, but very little.

I post in TONS of forums, but I do it for exposure and traffic. I don't think it helps with PR since I've been stuck at 5 forever.

I agree with 5starAffiliates. Forum links are good for exposure and can get you traffic also. They may also contribute in increasing your link popularity especially on Yahoo and MSN.

IMO, links from forums might be more helpful, in passing PR if they are from strictly search engine friendly forums. I mean forums which have search engine friendly (static URLs) for each forum and thread.
