Are forum links with relevant anchor text posted on high pr relevant forums any good?

Does google count forum links less then other links?

Google spiders and follows them, but most likely gives them lesser importance.

One of my brand new sites was picked up by Google and crawled after 2 days when I put a link here on DP:)

    Every link is important.

Links from forum may not be as valuable to links from other sites, but they do add to your page rank.

I have noticed, SEs really like links from DP. In fact I think giving a link on DP is a faster way to get indexed than submitting your sites to SEs

Another important thing with adding signatures links to forum is that they we do change them overtime.
So your anchor text is not remaining the same but also changing. (Of course, this is not applicable to members who do not change their signatures)

Now what effect changing the anchor text has is difficult to say !

Some links are pebbles and some grains of sand, but it take them all to create a beach.

    Confusious says.

great thx guys :) ... thats what i thought...

all links add up and count in some way...

i think the sig /forum link strategy is great for SEO guerilla marketing along with the array of other strategies for link dev... also if the forums are relevant can bring qualified traffic ... with anchor text its sorta like a mini contextual ad

Aside from SEO, links relevant to a forum's theme can get some great targetted clicks.

I've seen the tactic of posting in forums to be a great way of becoming an authority on a subject. Of course, you are not much of an authority if you have no site for the reader to view.

I think it matters by google, when you link your site to any forum with good pr that will give nice results. B'cos these are inbound links or so called only incoming links and these inbound links are batter then reciprocal links or links with partners :)

They are definitely important. Their are members of this forum who have thousands of posts with their anchor texts in them. That is the equivalent to having thousands of links pointing at your site. Definitely isn't anything wrong with that.

well every forum u talk in you should definetly add a signature link to your site. No matter what type of forum it is. While you have fun talking on the forum your site benefits from it!
