    Hi All!

Not sure if anyone can help, some pretty hardcore requirements if you ask me. I have received a request from a client that I need to quote. Anyone that know they can do the job PM me with a fixed price quote with timeframe to complete and what forum package you would be using.

    ONLINE FORUM BRIEF

    What do we want?
We want to run four separate online forums with respondents from our market research group discussions.

    The four forums would be:
    o kids & teens
    o twentysomethings
    o young mums & dads
    o baby boomers

All would need to be password protected (as they are not for the general public) and hosted on our website

    50-100 people per forum

    What is its purpose?
Researchers will use the forums to post questions and possibly video footage or pictures at three monthly intervals, asking for the panel’s feedback. We will be using their responses to generate reports throughout the year.

How do we see it running?
    • Respondents are recruited to take part in our yearly study via focus groups that we run. The best ones are asked to be part of our panel.
We will send them an email asking them to log in (password protected) to the forum to get their brief once every three months. This brief will ask them to look out for certain manifestations on a theme we have reported on in the study. They will be asked to respond with the things they’ve noticed within the last three months. They may need to scan and upload images. Occasionally the question will be to get their feedback on an image or video that we will post online. They have a set time to answer the questions.
    • We would like to use their answers as a way of searching through the database. Similar to the way you can search for someone on a member’s website. Eg demographic, age, gender etc.
    • We pay the respondents for each posting by pay pal or direct debit. TBC.
    • We would like to incorporate a rating system that only we can see so that every time they post a comment, we can rate their contribution and that way refine the database as time goes on
    • Researchers will manage the forums and database. Client will also be the only ones posting and analysing the responses. That is, no third party monitoring or client access required.
    • No respondents will be able to see one another’s answers.

    What do you recommend?
Client has limited funding to set up this project. So they are interested in obtaining quotes using out of the box solutions where possible. They will work with what is possible at this level. They are prepared to add additional functionality at a later date.

So don’t know how possible these are for now:
    • Online automated set up so that every time a respondent logs in, it informs us, keeps track of their comments, archives them.
    • An admin log in so that we can add or remove information about the participants as well as rate them.
    • And depending on the payment method, if paypal is used a record as to when they have been paid, how much and how many times. Something similar to what ebay use. (this point seems a bit crazy to me - but someone may know)
    • Finally, the ability to search the database by gender, age etc.

They need the forum database to be up and running by mid-July.
