Hi guys! I own a few websites that are doing Ok and earn me a half decent living. I know nothing about forum development/coding though and have a few questions for you experienced lot!

I have acquired footballforums.co.uk and want to develop into an all round nop notch football (soccer) fan resource. The main part of the site will of course be the forum but want to also implement pages for odds, football scores, news, etc. Each of these pages will be made up of an iframe.

    My questions:

    1. What do you think of the concept outlined above. I am thinking by offering other features it will differentiate the forum from other forums and also help with revenue.

    2. Bearing in mind my requirements above, what software would you suggest using. I am seriously thinking Vbulletin 4 as I think it looks the nicest out of those I have seen and seems very easy to maintain with the CMS option.

    3. How much should I expect to pay for a quality template/ icons, and the coding of the site and landing pages. I am happy to outsource this.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

i recommend IPB or vB, though i have soft spot for the layouts of SMF forums.
your concept is good, but the sports market is oversaturated, if you have some original ideas it could work out good.

give your forum it's own sections for each of your pages on your website

there are alot of FREE! templates out there for all forum platforms, and plenty of custom hacks as well. coding for a site might cost you depending on who you hire :)

I know this can vary massively but how much should I expect to pay for a good job? Is there anyone on here who can help with this for a good price?!

Go to the service forum section and ask for a quote from developers over there: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=60
