Forum CTR Explodes After Change in Ad URL Color... But

I made a change to my forum 250 x 250 (two ads) below the menu bar. It was so small I did not expect much change in CTR but WOW did it change. The change was to the color of the URL in the ad from black to green as you see in the picture. The increase in CTR happened right after the change and has been steady for a week, so I must attribute it to this. Question, is it worth the results?

Ad 250 x 250 far right (3.1 x greater CTR after change from Black to Green URL - amount pay per click dropped 50% )

Ad 250 x 250 left ad (3.8 x greater CTR after change from Black to Green URL - amount pay per click dropped 63%)

First, does it seem possible that a change to the URL color could do this? Is the drop in amount per click worth the increase in CTR. I am bad at math but I think it is still worth it.

EDIT - The image works if you click it.

I don't know why, but usually CTR and amount per click goes in the opposite direction. The more clicks you have, the lower $$ you'll get

Relax. It's the crisis!!! Google needs the extra bucks, you know. My clicks are worth near nothing since early 2009, and despite everyone else making less and less, nobody seems to give a ffff....

Yes this seems to be the case. You increase the CTR rate, and for some reason this change alone tripled mine on these two ads. Yet, it almost seems not worth the pay off to work on increasing the CTR. Google has it all figured out that is for sure.

I would rather stick to it-the higher CTR as it might eventually get higher payouts. some of these stuffs may not see the results but if you leave it there for now... you might get the high paying ads as higher CTR will make your ads higher paying ads.

    Thanks
