Any idiot can give out an award. Back in the early 1990s, the way you got lots of links back to your site was to make a crappy banner that said "____ Site Award" and whenever you saw a site where you wanted a link, you emailed the webmaster and said "congratulations here's your award" and then they'd put it on their site. I wonder if that still works.
Seconded. Do not waste your time with small awards. Maybe something big like if engadget or gizmodo awarded you an award for the best tech site second to them would be beneficial and worth showing off. Who would want to know if you are awarded the best blog in marketing by this-crappy-site-gives-award-to-everyone.com????????

May be he is try to say that the forum admin should give awards to most active members in the forum or the person whose contribution is outstanding on the forum. My guess.
on my second look, I look at this way: vB sites give best board of the month award based on the entries, so he wants to submit his site as an entry so , he wants to know if there are any other sites which give board of the month awards, so tht he could win an award for his forum hope I understood wat he meant atleast on my second attempt
