Definition of addiction: The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something. Forums are a great way to market your business, and interact with like-minded individuals. On average, I spend about 20 minutes per day on forums. I zip in, make my post(s) and zip right out again. Why so fast? Because I've got a business to run, and I've got plenty of work to keep me busy all day and half the night. However, I know of several individuals who spend 8 hours per day or more on forums. Their explanation is they enjoy the community of forums, meeting new people and basically just hanging out. I'm not a pyschiatrist, but in my opinion, if you're spending 8 hours per day on forums, unless you're the forum owner or a moderator, you're addicted. Not only that, if you're spending that many hours per day on forums, how are you getting any work done? How are you running your business? So here's my question: How much time do you spend on forums each day? As always, I welcome your comments and/or feedback. Dale King
I normally spend 6-7hours a day in forums, majority of the time is spent in my own forum. So yes, I am a forum addict.
I am not, but was in the past. Sometimes it's not a healthy habit. Forums can suck a major part of your time, which could probably be better utilized and your peace of mind if you engage in lots of heated debates. Here's a useful article on the topic. http://www.stevepavlina.com/articles/effective-online-forum-usage.htm
That's different: In week (monday to friday) i am dayly between 4-5 hours online (at the pc). At the weekend (saturday and sunday) i am dayly 6-7 hours, but that is different, when i go to the gym, so mostly i am 5 hours a day online.
It's refreshing to see how many of you are so forthcoming about your addiction. Good for you. I didn't start this thread to pass judgement on anyone. I'm just trying to stimulate some interesting conversation, that's all. So far, so good. Dale King
I've only discovered this forum about 3 days ago, after getting sick of all the spamming in the google adsense forum(in google groups, not on DP), which is virtually unmoderated. I've pretty lived on DP for the last 3 days.
I spend most of the time on forums when I am doing my computer work, now having about 19 posts a day here
