This post is going to come as a big disappointment to lots of readers, no doubt, but I wanted to address the idea that has become prevalent on this and many other forums that deal with AdSense success and earnings. Many of us seem to be looking for a quick fix or trick that will lead to marvelous click-through rates, traffic and AdSense earnings overnight. But without putting lots of work into creating content for your site and into promoting your site online, it simply is not going to happen. I'm now earning in the low three figures each month. To some, that's going to seem like peanuts, while to others that's a sum they can only dream of. It doesn't really matter. What matters is that I keep that trend going upwards and keep getting more of a return on my investment of time and energy into my site, and the only way I've realized I can get that is by continuing to create quality content that my site users value. And that -- fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your perspective -- takes lots of time and effort. This isn't a knock on those who want to create small sites and make a little bit of money on the side. More power to you. It's just that I'm afraid people are being misled into thinking that they can make five figures each month with little or no effort on their part. While there are of course those sudden "overnight" success stories out there, the chances of that happening to most of us are between slim and none. But the chances of you making some significant earnings from your site are great if you keeping putting time and energy into two things: creating high-quality content that meets your users' needs, and into marketing your site so that people can find you. That's all my ranting for today -- good luck to all!
Nice say. I realy agree with you. money is not growing on the tree or can get it easy. you need to invest your time and effort on it. For me. I can not really focus on my site much coz i still have a main job but surely one day i will earn some money from it. those will cost me time and energy but i think i can do it.
Good post, atladsenser. I totally agree that a lot of us tend to focus more and more on our CTR then what's really important - constantly churning out fresh and interesting content.
