In about nine days the 2007 season of the Formula 1 World Championship starts at the Albert Park street track in Melbourne. With Michael Schumacher quitting after the 2006 season and both reigning World Champion Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen changing teams this has to be one of the more open F1 championships in a long time. Will Kimi's mechanical failures now move to Ferrari? Has Massa stopped crashing? Can Alonso bring back McLaren to its glory days? Why did Renault keep Fisichella? Will the new "Earth friendly" Honda be as slow as it has been in testing? Will Kovalainen beat Hamilton as rookie of the year? Will next year be Coulthard's year? Who will be the first driver to get sacked or "injured during tennis"? Are there any DP F1 fans? Oh so many questions.... The 2007 lineup: 1. Fernando Alonso (Spain) Vodafone McLaren Mercedes 2. Lewis Hamilton* (Great Britain) Vodafone McLaren Mercedes 3. Giancarlo Fisichella (Italy) ING Renault F1 Team 4. Heikki Kovalainen* (Finland) ING Renault F1 Team 5. Rubens Barrichello (Brazil) Honda Racing F1 Team 9. Nick Heidfeld (Germany) BMW Sauber F1 Team 10. Robert Kubica (Poland) BMW Sauber F1 Team 11. Ralf Schumcher (Germany) Panasonic Toyota Racing 12. Jarno Trulli (Italy) Panasonic Toyota Racing 14. David Coulthard (Great Britain) Red Bull Racing 15. Mark Webber (Australia) Red Bull Racing 16. Nico Rosberg (Germany) AT&T Williams 17. I think "Kimi Raikkonen" will be the champion of 2007.. and i am more eager to see michael is going to do ... I wish to see him on some gas station ... (what he showed on espn last season in some interview)
Im a fan, but last year due to work commitments, I missed every single race... This year Im watching every one, and Im planning going to silverstone and Nürburgring. No clue whos gonna win the championship, thats why Im so excited about this year!!!! DD
My bet for 2007 F1 drivers championship goes to Fernando Alonso (again). and for constructors championship goes to Ferrari. Suggestion: Make a poll on this thread for drivers and/or constructors.
Kimis got it this year I can't wait, hes so underrated Alonso may have made a huge mistake going to mclaren after last years horrible performance I hope Button does well this year, it'll be about time to
Ferrari clearly has the upper hand with a good car and two good drivers. Renault will be at a disadvantage due to the departure of Alonso, Fisichella is a mediocre driver. Although McLaren has Alonso, it doesnt have the reliability. (which may change). Cant wait for it to start,
I agree with that. Perhaps the only reason he's staying this year is because Renault really had no clue that Alonso would leave them. I reckon they had plans of running Alonso and Kovalainen this year and when McLaren dropped the bomb they settled with Fisi as they wouldn't want to risk running two new drivers.
From the heart of NASCAR country. Kimi Raikkonen + Ferrari = driver and constructor's championship. BTW, Montoya exhibited the same lack of "team-man-ship" during the Busch Mexico City race that screwed his chances of a great F1 ride.
Yeah, I managed to get the last 20 laps of the race (thanks to my problems with calculating timezones). It was a pretty dumb and embarrassing move and put a big black cloud over an otherwise thrilling drive from his part.
So what do you guys think of the new Honda livery? http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3153/djm0726fe01jw3.jpg http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/6164/djm0726fe04wr4.jpg http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/2118/djm0726fe03zk5.jpg
i think massa have a ability to go for the champions this year while kimi in the team, its look massa did not nervous and pressure with kimi at this moment... we can look at their training session, massa always seems look better rather than kimi.. it might because of massa have a better understanding about ferarri machine.. huhu did you think the same?
sadly i think it has to be Alonso tho i hope for something good from the new Lewis Hamilton.. looking forward to that.. and just hope Jenson will start possitioning abit better (and if you have not guessed, yea in english )
I am sure we would see new champion this year. Kimi Raikkonen is my first choice for winner because he is faster than others but have not good car but after comming in Ferrari I am sure he would win this year Formula-1 title.
