Former President of Italy: 9/11 was an Inside Job

Discussion in 'Politics & Religion' started by Elsa2, Dec 5, 2007.

On November 30th, the former President of Italy, Francesco Cossiga, wrote in Italy's largest newspaper: [Bin Laden supposedly confessed] to the Qaeda September [attack] to the two towers in New York [claiming to be] the author of the attack of the 11, while all the [intelligence services] of America and Europe ... now know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized by the CIA.
The above is a rough translation using Babelfish. Someone who speaks fluent Italian will be able produce a much more accurate translation.

If he said such a thing, then yes, that would make him a wack-job.

Sure, i'm interested in the facts, I haven't heard any yet. I've heard a lot of speculation though. Credibility goes out the window though if you believe in the speculation that most would consider garbage. Lets be realistic, what benefit has our country seen from such a thing? What would be the motive? Have we seen anything that might resemble a beneficial result from a governmental perspective? How would these plans be kept under the radar? Certainly it would have taken a large group of people being aware of the plan to pull it off. When you sit back and take a realistic look at those types of allegations, it just doesn't line up.

While I don't believe in 9/11 conspriacys, I find this comment to lack intelligence.

If you think the administration/government had nothing to gain from 9/11, then you're part of the ~25% of the population who remains clueless.

1.) Tons of money. Blackwater, Haliburton, and billions of $ other contracts
2.) Tons of power. - Patriot act, suspension of Habeas Corpus, wire tapping, resolution 1955, etc etc etc list is like 10 pages.

I think a better example is the Gulf of Tonkin.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_of_Tonkin_Incident

It's definitely something to consider though. If the government was willing to kill innocent soldiers to start a war in Vietnam, it's plausible it could have happened for Iraq.

People need to be less trusting of their government and more trusting of their instincts.

I don't believe that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated by the CIA... To me that whole story just doesn't make sense. The conspiracy would have to be too massive the logistics I've seen presented just... It just doesn't add up. BUT... I do not think it's completely impossible that some very high members of the gov't knew about the impending attack and basically "let it happen" ... and I believe if that is the case - that would be just as bad, just as treasonous.

I do think that something(s) being hidden about what happened on 9/11 but it's likely it's nowhere near as grand as most of the conspiracy theories.

True. It amazes me how much trust people put into the government. Like they think it's so incredibly unlikely that the gov't is behind anything unethical.

For those of you who think this way: Do some research into MK ULTRA.

911 was absolutely an inside job. Buildings do not fall like that. Do any search for pancake collapse buildings and you will see what buildings look like when thy fall the same way the two towers supposedly did. Then do a search for control demolition. Guess what? It's looks exactly like the two towers falling.

I commend the Italian politician for bringing this up.

I'm not a 9/11 truther, but I do think there are a lot of unanswered questions, and the investigation was very poorly managed.

You would think an event of this magnitude (civilian terrorism on American soil) would have undergone immense amounts of scrutiny.

If a proper investigation had be done, at least enough to beat 50% of the truther arguments, then the truth movement would not be as large as it is today.

We're seeing an interesting period in time, with a free republic and a secretive government. It makes for a lot of speculation and conspiracy theories.

Probably because in a free republic, government should be transparent.
