    LOL jk. I think DP is successful because of its uniqueness, and that it was probably one of the first webmaster forum, nice promotion, and marketing.

    I think whether a forum becomes successful or otherwise depends largely on whether there are loyal members around. When I browse the forum, I can see some senior members (some dated back to 2004) still around contributing to the forum and I think that's the reason DP is where it is today.
