I am a Seoholic. I really am. However, once I read this article, I have definitely lowered the amount of time that I spent on Seo.

Not so much of a "Why you can" from what i read but more a case of you decided to for your sanity.

Curious as to why you would have the internal links back to your main index as no-follow ... sort of shooting yourself in the foot a bit there i think, as you are telling search engines you don't consider your main index important yourself.

I tried to post a comment but it gave me an error when I went to edit it. Anyway I thought it was good read as well.

I was wondering the same thing, also your site doesn't seem to have any form of file extensions, you might want to fix that as well. Fix these two issues and you might start seeing better results in the search engines. this page can help you set it up in wordpress.

I was just going by what you said in your blog.

Just looked like search engines were driving you up the wall, like they do with many people that's all. They get me that was as well sometimes.

Other than that my other comment was just wondering why you had "nofollow" links back to your main index? I would have thought, take the no follow out and change the title tag into the link would show search engines that you do value your own main index. at the moment you have...
<a href="http://www.webjourney.me" title="Home" rel="nofollow">Home</a>
Code (markup):
may be this might be better for you without the "nofollow"

i would not say lets forget about search engines as they do deliver quite a bit of traffic and for most, the only traffic source. but web 2.0 is the new trend and if used wisely, it can deliver a lot of traffic also. how much effective web 2.0 marketing would be depnends on niche as some niche would convert better and some would not convert at all. its just the nature of social media and article site traffic where you have to sell on value. they dont participage on a social site looking for something to buy so typical sale msg will not cut it. where on search engines, people search for things to buy. totally 2 different approach

These web2.0 sites (as you call them) are almost useless if you really sell something online (apart from some MMO infoproducts).

There´s really nobody willing to buy a screwdriver, going to digg.com for a product search. What´s good on these web2.0 sites is that thay rank quite well on everything as they enjoy the love of search engines. But the search engines are hidden behind anyway.

Say, you sell dog collars, write nice tumblr (or whatever web2.0) post that gats ranked well. That brings you handful of buyers; but in fact that is not tumblr who brought them. It´s google or yahoo, who sent people to your tumblr post and they clicked through to your online store.

"Forget about search engines..." you say? Not on your life! Search engines send me 88% of my traffic, which translates to over 53,000 unique visitors a month ... from search engines. Forget about them? No way.

I use numerous strategies to optimize my site, including forum posts and sigs, social bookmarking, directory submission, direct email, and more. I do much (not all) of that with the search engines in mind.

Yeah, I urge everyone to stop SEO'ing there site :)

Good article tough, but Search engines will stay important, also social websites are starting to create their own realtime search engine, why not focus on those also...

Ya, sometimes, I feel that too,
I am getting more traffic from referrel sites but not from the search engines, May be I have just lauched.
However, when I asked abt it, many guys are telling that SEARCH ENGINE is the huge TRAFFIC DRIVER.... so, hve to work for that....:p

I've been hearing this for a long time, but none other than SEO provide me traffic. May be a problem with my Media optimization strategy, but it never worked. :(

You are doing very well for a 14 year old, keep at it.

You make a good point about some stuff, but I think you may be a little jaded as you mentioned you don't have any decent keywords ranked well.
