A site which has a forged PR 5. My question is, when will its pr vanish? will it be on pr updates? Any link regarding forged and valid pr information.. Please..
I would have thought that if a site has a forged PR then they are probably also using other techniques that will get them de-listed. If not and if G never learns of the forged PR then they should continue to gain real PR as the updates happen. As I understand it the fake PR is for visitors eyes only and the bots do not see it, although it would not be hard for G to include a find fake PR addition to their algorithm and then use this to ban sites with it. IMO stay away from sites with fake PR.
How can I tell if a site has a forged PR? I've never heard of this but I sometimes get odd emails from people wanting to place links on my site, I try to stay away from "bad neighborhoods" Mike
Easy, all a person has to do is use a 302 redirect for their domain and point it to a high PR domain. Keep it up like that for a couple of months until the next PR update and TADA. you have forged useless PR. In the Google toolbar it will show the PR of the page it was pointed to.
there are some tools for you to use to check if it is a fake one, I can't find the link any more, hope someone else can point the link
most of the time forged page ranks are lost after a page rank update, but sometimes the domain can retain its page rank. the easiest way to check for forged page rank is to use info command on the google.
Actually Just check the Info: Domain and Site:domain In Google Search and you can see easily that site has 301 Redirect or 302 Redirect to high PR domain And the question of Retaining PR, Yes some sites do Retain PR when PR updates because of the Backlinks they generate.
Yes, I have done it accidentally. I had a domain that I purchased and used as a redirect to my site. I promoted the domain in a couple articles I wrote. A couple months later, instead of redirecting that domain, I just pointed it to a parking page. One day I noticed it had a PR4, the same as the page it was originally redirected to. So I figured out what others have mentioned, if you do a 301 to a high PR page, the redirect URL will pick up the PR. Once I saw a PR8 site for sale that looked fishy. I did a link:fishyPR8site.com on Google and it had about a million backlinks. I investigated further and all the backlinks were pointing to CNET.com so be careful if you are buying any high PR sites, it is easy to fake the rating.
yeah you can check valid pagerank here: http://www.checkpagerank.net/index.php with backlinks info i guess most of the pr website selling online are forged. . . :|
can you tell me what the mechanism a valid PR become fake or forget. i see some domain had a valid PR before turned to fake.
Just concentrate on getting PR and SERP rankings with out putting yourself in to deep discussion of pr.
Exactly, i will Focus in only my SERP and Quality back links to achieve Target in Search engines, PR will generate itself if you've finished on page and off page optimization. Thanks John
