Hi, I own several domains and the most recent one I have done most work on is forex-rates.biz. It receives about 4,500 hits a day with about 2,500 uniques. The website has close to 10,000 pages in google as well several links. It is a PR4 and an ok little earner for me making a couple of thousand a month with little input. What would a domain like this be valued at should I consider selling? This is purely for interest purposes only at this point.
A good rule of thumb is that a website is worth about 5-18X monthly net depending on the name value, traffic value, desire of the buyer to own it, and many other variables of course. There's no real way to say what a site is worth off the cuff. IMHO you won't see a top selling price for a .biz with a dash unless it's based on solid long term income. Take the total net profits for the last year (after all expenses), divide by 12 and X by 5 and that should be your lower end. Again this is very loose and just an opinion.
It seems pretty good.Why not keep on maintaining it?Maybe you can find out some ideas to make money from the website.
Thanks to both Steve's. I do plan on keepnig the domain and this is purely out of interest. There are 6,800 members which I interact with through newsletters and several guest visitors so it does ok.
