No person in the UK, including all the people whose sole source of declared income it is, has ever been charged income-tax on spread-betting profits (and if they ever were, it would be just about the biggest financial/tax news story in the UK and not something one could miss!). The other main benefits of spread-betting (though its being tax-free is undeniably a pretty big one!) include generally better customer service, much better regulation and security, and the fact that in practice it typically avoids counterparty trading (in which the party holding the other side of your position also makes up both the rules and the prices, as well as having possession of your money). This last point isn't so easy to appreciate without some understanding of the practical realities of how spread-betting firms actually operate, on a day-to-day basis, and it's arguably more true for some firms than others, too, but some of us consider it a huge advantage.
With Forex, you should really practice and walk before you run. Figure out what you're doing first. Also, if people advertise bots that seem too good to be true, they are. There is no 100% win strategy.
