If you are copying content, there may be some repercussions down the road. My understanding is that Google has some algorithms that detect duplicate content, and therefore will lower pagerank for duplicate content online. Also, I believe it is against the adsense TOS. Ultimately you want to write your own genuine content to create an income over time online.

From my understanding, Google SE just ignore your blog due to its duplicate content. That makes your blog hardly searched by online visitors in the search engine. In term of Google Adsense, i don't think they will ban your account. What i know is that if a person is applying Google Adsense account with duplicate content, Google will not approve it.

I do this somethimes when I am rushing to get a new product out to market.

It's a quick way to get involved immediately on a hot product.

As soon as you get a chance, you need to go back through and remove all duplicate content and replace with unique stuff.

You'll get no organic traffic until you do this. Organic traffic is the best traffic around, it's like gold.

I did this with find tattoos, but I just went in yesterday and removed ALL duplicate stuff.

Now my organic search hits will climb....

I think the bot would match the cached pages and then punish the article that was published at a later date. It would look at PageRank as well I guess.

In other words, you'll simply get deindexed from the search engine.

As others have already said, duplicate content will mean your website doesn't get indexed by google (or deindexed if it already is). If you are hoping that google searches will bring you traffic, you will be disappointed. Try writing some original content instead (or pay someone to do so) - that will be the best in the end.

Aye, another thing is that it is no good copying content and just putting up a note about it. You need permission from the author. It's probably copyrighted as well, i'd take it down.

Do not copy content. Hire someone to write for you if you cannot write on your own

Try looking at this from the other side.

Scenario 1 - and this happened last night.

Someone stole content from a 3 week old mini-site of mine and leeched a graphic as well. I'm checking the stats on this site at least 3 times a day, so I caught it almost immediately. He used the content at a well know auction site. I changed the graphic to read that the contents were stolen and included my web address on the picture.

Then I contacted the site's owners via email with a PDF showing the page with the changed graphic and gave them a link to my site, so that they could see that he'd stolen the entire page.

Then I got on their forum and posted about it. A 3,000+ posting member saw my post and contacted one of the Admins she knew.

Bottom line, his account was terminated within 4 hours of my spotting it.

I mean honestly, I have a 100 page plus site that it would have taken me a few days to spot, they chose a brand new 5 page mini-site with a graphic I paid for and then custom edited? And leeched my bandwidth to boot? Greedy and stupid, I went after them with everything I could.
    -------

Scenario 2 - This happened a few months ago

Someone at DP and I bought the same "original content." I emailed the webmaster and we came to an agreement based on who posted sold on the thread first.

Then, we both went after the seller.

Honest mistake on her part - I negotiated. As far as the seller is concerned, I believe he was banned.

You never know how good or bad a webmaster is at promoting their site. Your stolen content could be listed by the search engines first. Count on them to be really, really pissed if this happens.

Depending on how vindictive they are about pursuing this, you could get your account at Blogspot terminated. That's the "least" of what they could do.

Suck it up - get PLR - and rewrite it or hit the content section here and buy some. Stealing from another webmaster, announcing the niche and a link to your theft kinda roams into f**ktard territory.

Says who google will not index his site?

Things is, get off the copied articles, you can't pretend to make money over someone's hard work, and if I was one of the adsense team i would be happy to ban you or your site only.
