Ok hopefully this is an ok place to ask this. I am an American and I am moving to the Philippines in about 30 days. I want to get an office and a team of like 10 Filipinos to start a web company. I would like a couple programmers, an SEO guy, couple designers, content writer and set up shop around Malolos or Calumpit area. Ok that's the basics of my thought and I know this is going to have to be answered by someone there. So my questions are:

Am I up for some surprises by trying to operate a foreign business?

Is it hard to get something like this started in the Philippines?

What is a normal pay for this specialty in the Phils?

Ok there is a lot more questions I could ask but I just want to get a conversation rolling. I know there is many Filipinos here that might be able to give me advice.

*Mods, if this is not the place to ask please move this. I took my best stab at it....

1.No its normal coz i have done this too.And its wise to have few of local people to help you in this time.

2.Its easy coz it doesn't involve and technical thing. All you need is a team of dedicated person that willing to work for you.

3.Well this is kind of subjective question coz the pay is depend on the proficiency of your worker. Its wise to survey the salary market by utilizing local survey company ability first before start hiring.

4.Its my pleasure to answer your question.

wow and i thought i was the only person thinking of doing this, Mentos is right its betetr to know some local people and get help from them and you can start hiring new graduates they would ask for less and are willing to work harder for a good portfolio.
