Do backlinks from foreign websites help as long as they have similar content in their own language? Let's say i sell 'cars', would a link from a danish website selling 'bil' help? We both sell the same thing.
Right. But what if you do backlinks from more than 1 country? Translate the word and farm blogs containing it from different countries. You would easily overpower the competition.
Hm that's an interesting question. I think it can give some additional link juice, but the main 'power' should come from the sites which are in the same language
I've been thinking about this because on some keywords that interested me i only got around 100-200 blogs for my language. And somehow some french websites got in the results since the word was written the same in both languages.
This may improve your rankings in danish Google and if someone from Danmark will search for your keyword
Question is very nice. Links with related theme and language is always helpful. If you try to create links from particular country domain (.ca,.fr,.uk) will be very good for your site and ranking.
Yes it will help, however if you say foreign language meaning the whole html of the website in different language like chinese or french and german, then it might not help that much.
There is no evidence that Google does any language translation at all on anchor text. So while different language links are good, I do not think they as good as same language anchor text.
It should help you quite a bit in the country the link came from. I run a dating site and have links from around the world. My membership reflects this trend. I would not pass up a link no matter where it is from (as long as it is white hat link).
unless you finished to get links from all sites which are available in your language my recommendation is not to go for this kind of links...
Yes, I think the links from foreign websites are also useful for ranking. But the best backlinks are from the websites that use your own language.
