Force Full Screen Mode (remove toolbars)

    I've noticed that some websites have popups that will automatically go into fullscreen and remove all the toolbars, some flash sites do this too. (Like when you press F11 on your keyboard).

    I would like to apply this to one of my websites. If they type in the URL the site will appear in a new window (so they can easily leave without too much annoyance). But if they resize the window and click on a link in the navigation I don't want it to force them back into fullscreen mode.

    Any ideas??:confused:

    window.open()

    It's not possible to force a full screen mode (like pressing F11), but it is possible to get a similar effect using that function above in Javascript.
    By the way, why would you want to do that? The only reason I see is if you have an online newspaper or magazine or something to that sort. If it's just a normal website, it's intrusive and will undoubtedly draw visitors away from your site.

    Yeh I know what you mean, but the website I want to use it on is a photographer so displaying in fullscreen is best. And that was also the reason why I prefer it if the site opened up in a new window so it doesn't feel as if your browser was hijacked.

    If it is not possible how do sites like megavideo.com do it?? :confused:
