I would like to pick your brains if you dont mind. Please help me with the following questions. 1. What time and when do you usually submit your story? 2. Do you usually submit them yourself or do you ask for one of the top digg users to submit them for you? 3. I realized most of the stories on the front page are submitted less than 24 hours ago. My question is, after your story is submitted to digg.com and it doesn't make it front page in 24 hours, does that mean it won't have any chance at all? 4. We all know digg focuses more on technology news. If you have a news that will fit more than 1 category such as technology and business. Will you submit it to technology category or business category? Why? 5. Any technique for getting diggs ? 6. What kind traffic do you expect to get from the front page of digg ? Thanks in advance to those who can contribute.
1 + 2 - I don't, if it happens it happens. I've had about 6 front pages. 2 were submitted by top digg users, the other 4 be nobody I'd heard of. 3 - As far as I know if it doesn't make it in 24 hours then it won't make it 4 - If I was submitting and it was relevent I'd go for technology, more competition but also more traffic 5 - If I notice that I'm getting a bit of traffic organicly from digg (~50 visitors in a few hours) I'll have a look for the story and if it's less than 20 hours old and I think it has a chance of making it I'll start campaigning for diggs, 6 - I've seen from 15K up to 40K uniques from a front page
The best advice is to have your mates digg the article (ask them by email not on a forum) and get a top ranked user submit it.
I've never hit front page, but I submit alot to the "Gaming News" category on my digg account and I usually get anywhere from 3-14 digg's per article, which isn't much, but for each digg I'd say I'd get anywhere from 5-20 views a day from until it dies out.. so it's not bad for a minute of your time to copy an excerpt from your article and just post it to social bookmarking websites.
So it differs if a top ranked user submitted it? And about Ok, if their are a group of people digging each other's stories, won't digg band them? I mean if digg noticed that the same people are digging each other stories is it ok?!
