I think that most ebooks are not worth it, however there are a handful that are helpful. I believe that the points made out in the opening post are true, especially the action one, but many ebooks are recycled junk, and I believe that finding good and useful information in the majority of ebooks is the equivalant to finding a needle in a haystack.
An ebook in it's purest form is just that... an Ebook... an electronic book. It is like saying... I have never made any money by reading a book. Of course there is no 1-1 ratio of reading a book (or gaining knowledge in whatever way you do it) and making money but it is also just as backward to say that by reading ebooks you are going to make money. It is what you do with the information that will eventually make or break you. There are a lot of great books (and ebooks) out there with a lot of good information. There is also the exact same information on the internet for free. A hammer isn't going to build a house but it is a tool to get the job done.
Ebooks are alright, but you have to get into doing something your not interested in . I mean there was this one ebook that claims you can make i think it was $100 by writing content, now personally I wouldn't want to write content no matter what.. So some ebooks are useless it depends on what your willing to do. I'd rather design and sell templates then that..
Ya but you dont' need an e-book to know this stuff, anybody with common sense knows. I still think E-Books are crap!
ebooks have some useful information in them...are there a lot of them on the market...yes there is plenty everywhere with people selling them...

I have read numerous e-books, most are filled with junk, just self promotion with no real information as an attempt to entice the reader to buy a newer/different/better/etc e-book. If people make money doing this, all the better for them.
it is true that there are way more crap ebooks then good ones, with the sole purpose of making either a quick buck or conning you into something like clicking on a link. I have saw a few good ones over time however the internet is full of free advice lol
