If you have purchased ever purchased a developed website what type of website did you buy, or what type of website would you want to buy?
I look for sites that have: Topics I am Interested Sites that require low maintenance Currently have traffic (As well as being able to keep and grow traffic) Unique sites or sites with unique content Revenue of course Also, I look at if the seller has a legitamete reason of selling, or he knows something that I dont know that might hurt the site in the future.
It has to be a great topic with something unique. Otherwise I could just make the site myself. The site must also have good earnings potential.
I have never brought a site, I have made all of mine from coding them in notepad. But anyway, I may think about buying some sites in the future as it is a quicker way of having a site than making it from scratch. If I purchase some in the future then I will mainly look for the quality of the site, the content on it, the topic of the site, how and where ads could be placed to earn from it, the price of the site and also how easily it will be to update the site. I wouldn't worry to much about traffic aslongs as it is in the search engines and doesn't seem to be penalized it doesn't really matter. I can get the traffic to it myself.
I build sites from scratch, but would consider buying one that had several income streams such as adsense, affiliate, or downloadable product. It would need to have good indexing and growth potential. BTW - has anyone promoted their income site with paid emails to large opt in groups? If so does this work?
ROI. All of this other gibberish is irrlevant. If you spend $1000 and you make $5000 do you care if the content is unique, the design looks good, that it has multiple revenue streams, that it is unique? If you are in business to make money none of that will bother you.
Unique content will be something to look into plus the age of the site. If you want to make a quick buck then it will not, but if you want to keep the site and make it big, then the more unique content you have the easier it will be to keep visitors coming back to the site plus also advertising the site. Your site is more likely and easier to rank higher if the content is unique than what it would if your sites content was non unique.
1) Sites making money 2) Unique sites 3) Sites with traffic already 4) Sites selling services/products I am interested in and think I could sell 5) Sites which require little maintenance/are manageable.
I am looking for related sites to purchase in my market. So the market or industry is number. Second, I like to look for undervalued sites which are mis-priced.
