I didn’t say you have to fill it full of ads, or be devious with your blending... If your ads are relative to the category some might find them useful to find what they are searching for.

Yes too much adsense on a directory looks cheezy especially when you don't really have a chance to make much money, $45 a year? You might have lost more than that from folks that don't like.

The other thing i see is it detracts from those who have taken the time to advertise in the directory, they must now compete with random offers to get your attention.

this alone would stop me submitting in any directory using these types of ads.

some directories ( if i call them that / more MFA ) are shocking in the overkill of alternate ads.

Adsense on directory really defeats the purpose of buying a featured link, Because I feel that I can bid on your site from adwords rather than getting a featured listing. Also I think adsense does well only on niche directories and not general directories.

...and I can argue that they add value to the ones who are searching for quality resources. You can have one ad on each page. If you make the ad look professional, not MFA people won’t be repelled.

my directory is doing well with adsense

of course, it can always be more

Adsense is running smooth because whe have many visitors (700 unique a day), and most are comming for articles

i think in about 2 months i will have XXXX$ income from adsense a month.
