hi, want to expert guys here, for the SEO of the website, should i buy a domain with 2-3 keywords i target, (20-30 characters) or just one keyword and some characters, just to make it shorter. what do you suggest?
i have actually tried this for SEO reasons and have found better success with shorter domains. I actually bought this domain and found great success on google in only two weeks. Go with a shorter domain if possible good luck!
thank you guys for sincere suggestions, appreciate that. @scuba, do you mean as short as domains in your signature? or shorter?
scubas and yours both look pretty good. you just don't want a site like www.howtomakeamilliondollarsinoneweek.com - it smells spammy from a mile away.
thanks grandaddy but one in my sig is not the one i plan to buy, as i said in the thread it will not exceed 20 chars. for example in a website i plan to open about wastewater treatment i wan to buy eWasteWaterTreatment.com, is this domain good for seo? or what do u suggest.
wouldn't look spammy to me. but to some it may. to your average waste water surfer, I'd say no it wouldn't look bad.
A few people say to go with a domain name that's relevant to the seo terms that you may be targetting, I think it doesn't really matter and some even suggest a unique domain name. Here's a few that are not relevant but are huge successful : Digg Google Yahoo Wiki Flurl Just unique short and catchy obviously they have many other factors that are reasons for success, but you don't always need a gighly relevant term in the URL.
it seems to be controversial issue many people, many opinions but i thank each one of you for sharing your sincere point of view. thsadmin, thanks for sharing opinion but i dont think that any of the companies in your list picked up domain names considering SEO
If you are using a phrase as you top keyword, I recommend getting a domain with the exact phrase in it.
If you're using a long domain name, count on it as being seen by nothing more than search engines. Visitors will probably never type it all out on their own, if they don't bookmark the site. I have seen long dash-separated URLs get #1 serp rankings for queries before, though
about the dash separated domains,if there are more than one dash, i heard they are considered spam but google.
Instead of taking a domain name with two hyphen, I think it is better to stick with the domain name that you've already chosen.
