for self employed ppl, who do you get health insurance from?

    So, my health insurance is going to end by end of the year, been on my parent's accounts, but now that i graduated from college...*poof*

    im a contractor and also am self employed so I need to buy my own health insurance.

    anyone got suggestions?

    I was thinking about joining NASE (http://www.nase.org/) and go through them for group plan. anyone went through them before?

    It is a tough thing to find. Harder is some states than others.

    Start with whomever is selling you your business liability or auto insurace and ask for recommendations.

    For a young healthy person you might be better off going to Blue Cross or another firm that sells to individuals. I used Blue Cross when I was self employed and covered a family of four for about $400 per month. They can evaluate you individually and give you a good rate, as part of a group they may insure you without evaluation so you will not benefit from the fact that you are young and may be single and healthy. Also get the highest deductible possible and you will save a lot of money that you can easily cover your deductible with.
