www.LuckyFork.com is a website about food that is targeted at college students. The website went live in August of 2006. It is custom designed and professional coded with PHP, MySQL, and a touch of AJAX.

    Main features:
-“Creations” section where students can upload their recipes, rate and comment on others’ recipes, and search/sort all of the recipes.
-“Deals” section where students can search for specials at restaurants and grocery stores near their campus.
-“Articles” section containing tips for eating and cooking during college.
-“My Account” section where users can update their profile and view all of their creations and comments to their creations.
-Administrative backend that allows you to easily manage all of the content on the site. Administrators can manage the site without any coding knowledge.

    Reason for selling:
Although we (myself and a business partner) spent a great deal of money and energy developing this site, we have not had the time to properly market it. We believe with the proper attention this site has tremendous potential and we are selling for significantly less than our development costs because we have another project that is currently draining our time.

    Earnings:
The site currently receives few visitors and earns pennies per day because it has not been marketed. The selling price is based on the site’s quality and potential, not its earnings history. As stated above, the BIN is actually much lower than our development costs.

    Price:
    Starting bid: $300
    Minimum increment: $50
    BIN: $900

    More detailed description of features:
    Home page:
-Displays recent “updates” and a “featured creation” that are controllable from the administrative panel.
-Displays the “newest creation” automatically, but you can also control it manually via the administrative panel.
-Features a weekly tip that is randomly updated each week.

    Creations page:
-Users can browse the creations by the highest ranked, most viewed, newest, alphabetically, randomly, and by featured status.
-Users can search for creations based on their titles, ingredients, or both.
-Users can filter the creations based on tags, such as “no oven required” or “vegetarian”
-Uploaded photos of creations are automatically resized.
-Users can rate the creations positively (smiley face), neutrally(straight face), or negatively(sad face)
-Users can comment on creations. Comments are set up to censor bad words automatically.
-Users are awarded a different colored fork icon next to their name when they accumulate more positive ratings (somewhat like on eBay). Details in the FAQ.

    Deals page:
-Users can search for deals at restaurants and grocery stores at their own campus.
-Retailers and restauranteurs can create their own accounts to advertise the deals they offer near campuses. This service is currently free, but once the site has a large audience you could charge for it and make serious bank.

    Articles page:
-The most recent articles and tips are automatically displayed
-Users can browse articles by topic or search for articles
-The administrative panel allows you to easily write and save articles. It includes a style editor so people who don’t know html can write articles with lists, pictures, links, headings, etc.

    Administrative panel:
    -Manage articles
    -Manage creations
    -Manage comments
    -Manage users
    -Manage campuses
    -Manage vendors
    -Manage deals
-You can do just about everything from the administrative panel, so once the site is rolling you could hire any ordinary person or get volunteers to look after the site.

Please post any questions and I’ll get to them as soon as possible.

Yes it is all unique. We wrote the articles ourselves. We also posted most of the existing recipes and some have been submitted by other members of the site.

We don't have anything to prove with stats. As stated in the post the site currently receives virtually zero traffic. The price is based on its quality, uniqueness, and potential.

If I am misunderstanding your request please let me know. Thanks!

Are we talking less than 10 uniques a day? If it's that or more, I would still like to see the stats and referrers. :)

Also, do you have the original photography for the recipes?

    Thanks,
    tasty

Okay I have attached an overview of the stats from Sept 1 2006 to today. There were a few spikes last year from digg and stumbleupon but lately it has seen little activity.

Yes we have the original photos, except for the few that were uploaded by other users.

www.luckyfork.com is still available. It has great potential if someone is willing to market it to some of the ~2,600,000 college students in the US. Reasonable offers will be considered.
