Any veterans here from India, what is your mode of payment and are there any deductions when it reaches you ?

    FeedBack appreicated. :)

no, there are no charges if you want to receive check from standard mail. And you can select option of payment in INR. They will just send you check when you achieve $100 level.:)

Why bank will charge you any money for clearance if your cheque is in INR?

that just doesnt make sense. Screw the bank, they cant charge you clearance fee for clearing a Rupee cheque.

    which bank is it?

From what I have seen all banks in India charge for clearing outstation checks. Those charges are there forever.

For those banks which doesn't have centralized (core) banking, they have to send your checks to respective bank by post and they accumulate postage etc charges to do so - which they pass on to you
