I worked for NationVoice in 2007 as a Contract Programmer, Ventrilo Support Representative and Linux Specialist. I worked for Black Lotus Communications in 2006 as a Level I Tech. I worked as a COO/CTO for Sharpnet Communications before that since 2004. - Capabilities - Support : * Working with various pre-installed software, and finding elegant, but more often, efficient solutions. * Automating dubious tasks, and resolving Level I, II, and III issues, and documenting my work. * Resolving basic PHP/CGI issues, correcting permissions. Stack tracing code to resolve programming issues. * Provided consultation on custom solutions for both personal and and business partners and customers. * Managed Redhat-based systems to accomodate requests from customers. * Worked with Apache, Lighttpd, Pure-ftpd, proftpd, vsftpd, Exim, Postfix, QMail, and many many other daemons.. Security : * Wrote advanced filter rules for .htaccess, netfilter (iptables), and snort. Very familiar with regular expressions (PCRE). * Set up custom firewall solutions for DoS-prone clients. * Finding rootkits, and performing data collection on C&C nets and working with authorities to log and apprehend criminals. * Experience with infiltration, vulnerability assessment, and disaster recovery. - COMPENSATION - This is to be discussed with the hiring manager, however I am looking for salary commensurate with my experience and unique talent above $20/hour. - PREFERENCE - I am not looking specifically for Remote work, but rather Houston based.
