    For whoever thinks that, here's a picture from CERN where a presentation is being made about Higgs-Boson and where the large haldron collider is located. It's also where the world wide web was invented. How many Mac laptops can you count?

    Not being able to see the photos...
    I hope that these Mac laptops aren't being used by a bunch of academics just to take notes and watch presentations on.

    I'm thinking the images in the original post might not display unless you are logged into that previous site.

    Why not? What diff does it make? It makes sense they would use Macs cause Macs are Unix and professionals use Unix.

    What are these "professionals" doing with their Unix workstations? Reading a document? Viewing a slideshow? Collectively managing the Large Hadron Collider from the command line?
    Really simple question. What are the Mac laptops actually doing?

    The thread title is "For anyone who think Apple Macs are only for graphics".
    I was expecting to see a Mac doing something special. I'm seeing Macs doing nothing.
    Specifically, nothing to do with the Large Hadron Collider.

    The topic is not about the Collider or using Macs with the Collider. The topic is "Physicists prefer the Mac". As stated, these are physicists involved with CERN and the LHC at a presentation of the topic. One stated, "It looks like an ad for Apple." The second image is of one who works on the Hubble as noted by the property tag. (I got the image directly from him)

    Actually, you dodn't show that physicists prefer Macs, all you proved is that at one demonstration at CERN the majority of attendees used Mac laptops. Considering the number of people who were in the picture, your finding is statistically so meaningless that you gave new meaning to the word 'insignificant'. (And your topic has nothing to do with your assertion.)

    Macs are used for all kinds of things. Doesn't matter if you're a fanboy or if you hate them. Just a fact. This is a strange way to prove this point though.

    You could take it as tongue in cheek, which is how the original picture came to me, but, when confronted with a picture of a blue sky, only a Windows user would argue that it was only blue because the sun was shining.
