What are your methods of getting traffic to your arcade?

Here's a few of mine, hope we can share and discuss tips

*exchanges - usually the 100x100, great tools..my primary focus
*word of mouth - friends, school all that
    *buying traffic - via exchanges
*linking with other arcades - pretty good too if you can get good placement

I also opened an exchange up...I'm keeping mine on a strict niche of arcades...to allow the best target audience possible for arcade admins.

feel free to reply here, also check out arcadeadmin.com

I use similar tactics to you. SEO is another very important one as getting gaming traffic from the search engines can increase your traffic dramatically.

I own an arcade site which I honestly haven't touched in a year, but it still brings in a steady amount of traffic every day (around 150-200 uniques/day).

I created a huge buzz at school by only telling a few people about the site. Within about a week almost everyone was on it during their computer classes. It's a considerable amount of traffic -- there were at least 6 computer classes a day and about 2/3 of the 30 students in the class would play games on the site. I was pushing 100 uniques/day purely from school traffic. What's interesting is that they actually clicked ads, too.

Food for thought, young arcade owners. ;)

when I started my arcade I wished I was still in high school too to start that kind of buzz. I still intend to get it popular at my old high school still if I can find someone that still goes there. Thanks for the tips guys.

wow your whole school? lol thats great...I'm working now on really making the site stand out...I got some talent behind drawing characters and making flash games...so I'm going to implement them into my arcade to make it unique.
