ha ha ha ha ha do you feel the brunt? joking mates! Google got too fat to think right, they got so thick that they are risking it. The new ads they put in place sucks really bad, esply for those who never tried other networks. I learned my lesson a long time ago and tried to figure out ways to make as much money if not more with alternatives like Adbrite, and it worked. Time for people to stop looking at adsense as the only way. I hate it when people say but adsense is this, adsense is that, there is no other. There will never be another if you guys dont make it so. Once I figured out how to use Adbrite I dont even check Adsense for days. Remember traffic is money, if you have traffic you will make money no matter what you use.
You know, many people care complaining about the new click area, which is silly. This new method actually prevents accidental clicks better, your seeing results of people who actually wanted to click the AdSense ad unit and not on accident.
Which is better alternative for adsense? I have applied for few within last few days. waiting for the approval. i can't depend on adsense for more. They do anything for advertisers. why don't they reduce the clickable area in the beginning? sudden drop in the revenue cause lot of problem. adsense will face it soon.
I think the changes are for the good. For example, yesterday my CTR was half my average before the changes. However, the ads on my sites appear more targeted and my earnings for yesterday where the highest I've had in nearly 3 years using Adsense! As the ads are well targeted and the sites good quality I doubt I will be smartpriced either. I'm sorry for anyone who is really hurting from the changes, but if your sites rely on accidental ad clicks the free ride is over... Cheers BP
My oppinion: very often I used to move my pointer over ads to see if the white area was clickable too. Now that only the link is clickable, the ads look much more like regular links than ads, so they are more likely to get clicked. My CTR hasn't been affected by this change. I think that the only ads which will be affected are those placed in areas where true accidental clicking can happen.
The new ads have worked out well for me at least, a similar CTR to the old ads but each click is worth approximately 50% more than before....i reckon that, because of the changes, the quality of traffic will improve as discussed here already and thus advertisers will be willing to pay more.
me too , but for the original thread .. you're talking about trying alternatives , trying only one company should take atleast a month or two , trying out the system and the click rate , whether they pay or not ... payment delays .. etc ... thats an exhausting experience if you ask me .. especially when you have a settled website with some good traffic ... in another words thats a waste of money in most cases
I'm not seeing such a huge drop until now...Earning are just like 10% down, but that had happen before too... If people really want to click, they move the mouse just a bit to click the link area, they don't need to have all the ad space clickable.
I think this is a good move by google to prevent accedently clicks and it is in profit of Advertisers! publishers may experience decrease in CTR but overall if you see it looks nice move by google
I agree with you. Since the changes I am earning more for every click now. Same AVR traffic and number of clicks. Hope it stays that way...
