I know I should rate everything based off of ROI...but what is the average rate of clicks we should see for every sell...in other words if we get 250 clicks and only nail one sale for a beginer...like four days into this...am I promoting the wrong product?

it depends on your product/market, etc no easy answer

You should look at your affiliates stated epc, and are you at least near that?

It all depends on what your selling. Satellite dishes take alot more clicks than wallpaper or ringtones.

It does depend on the product and market....but you also have to ask yourself...how much are you making per sale? is it enough that you will give up 250 hits to sell one?

NO...but I am learning more about key words as I go...and bidding...I feel like I have to be number one...but is 6 ok on the placement

And should I be paying for impressions rather that clicks...target specific web pages instead of search ads

And I have a blog that i am working that gets 500 visits without any advertising...at least paid...should I work that market to build up a bank role...

I really think that if you are receiving 250 hits and getting only 1 sale then you need to have a big rethink. Aim for 1-3% conversion rates.
Maybe you need to create a review site, or some kind of landing page.

I had 100 clicks which cost me 21$
    I only got 1 sale, worth 39$

And I think it's a horrible convertion rate.

250 clicks and 1 sale - there is something wrong. As stated above, perhaps a landing page?
