Thanks for your advice in advance. I want to be a reseller.
For a similar price, I can either get a smaller size VPS or a larger size Reseller account, which would you choose?

    The VPS is:
    VPS XEN NL 1
    Space: 10 GB
    RAM: 128 MB
    Swap: 256 MB
    Speed: 1 Gbps
    Bandwidth: 100 GB
    Dedicated IP: 1 IP
    Price: $11.99/month USD

The Reseller account is caped at a maximum of 15% CPU usage for 90 seconds. If you or your customers go over that, you're suspended.
    Reseller Unmetered
    Disk Space: Unlimited
    Transfer (GB/Bln): Unmetered
    Cpanel: Yes
    Add-On Domains: Unlimited
    Price: $9.99 /Month USD
Can be Upgraded to Master Reseller at $14.99/month.

Both accounts are through corong.com/reseller.html Thanks!

If you're just starting out, go for the reseller plan even though I'd be wary of the "unlimited" and "unmetered" parts of their offer. Here's why the reseller plan is probably better for you from the choices you've given.

    1. The VPS doesn't have much RAM. I'd not expect much performance out of it
    2. The VPS is just that - a raw Operting system. As a reseller you'll need FTP, Email, Databases (MySQL?), DNS, Backup, a Control Panel, and other software - and you'll need to install/manage them yourself. There's no where near enough ram to do all that and be reliable.
    3. Since you need to run additional software, and not all of it will be free, then you will have additional costs.
    4. With the VPS you'll need to manage the operating system and any software you install - not a good idea when you're new to it.
    5. The reseller plan will probably run on a much more powerful set-up although it will also run sites by other resellers and users.
    6. You'll get support from your provider if anything goes wrong with the set-up. With a VPS you're on your own - unless you just want the operating system re-installed.

The downside is that $9.99 is pretty cheap for a reseller plan that allows unlimited diskspace and domains, and unmetered bandwidth. Not too sure if the host makes much money from it, and if they aren't making profit they might not be around for long.

I will also suggest you to go with reseller hosting package , rather than VPS as RAM assigned is really low.

Thanks for your help guys. So many people mentioned (I asked on other forums as well), and they all said the same) that "unlimited" plans are usually oversold and bad, I think I will take everyone's advice.

    +1 for RonBrown,

You will absolutely NOT be able to run cPanel on that VPS. I'm not sure there is any control panel that will run on that low amount of RAM...maybe DirectAdmin or such. As well, I doubt the VPS comes with cPanel at that price? That will add to the cost as well...possibly even doubling the cost or more, depending on the rates your host can get for cPanel licenses.

Would definitely go with the reseller account.

if you are starting the hosting business now and you are new to server / vps management, it is better to go with reseller hosting option.

    Still trying to find one.
I'm still looking, please let me know if you know of any host that can meet my needs.

I am looking to buy a Netherlands or Finland Reseller or master reseller hosting that includes WHMCS. Company must not be brand new, must offer 24/7 support, and have a 99% uptime guarantee.

I'm looking for at least 50 GB Data Storage & 1000 GB Bandwidth or unlimited/unmetered disk and bandwidth. Also, must be able to make unlimited cpanel account (and potentially resellers).

The Host's policy must be to send DMCA's to their spam folder (ie: doesn't enforce suspensions or penalties).

I am looking to get this package for about $25/month. If the Host is white label like HostGator, (willing to handle my customer's trouble tickets/provide tech support), that is the best and I'm willing to pay more for that.

If I were you I would go with reseller over vps for easier management. Reseller type hosting has been designed for resell purpose so it should be much easier in resources and user management.
